Unemployability

If you are not able to work because of your service-connected disabilities, you may be eligible to receive Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability (TDIU). VA may also award unemployability benefits to veterans who are working marginal employment, earning below poverty wages, or those who cannot work in a competitive work environment, but are working in what VA considers a protective work environment, such as a family business or for a company that makes accommodations for their service-connected disabilities. There is no age limit to unemployability. Some veterans avoid applying for unemployability because they think they will be barred from ever working again. Having an accredited VA attorney walk you through the process will help you ensure you access everything you are entitled to receive, and do not walk away from benefits that may ease the financial burdens imposed by your service-connected disabilities.
